you totally can!! like anything else, it just takes a lot of practice and trial + error. I never learned "properly," just picked up tidbit by tidbit from 20+ years of being online. you can do this! FIGHTING!!

hi! my layout is 100% from scratch! basically, I start with an idea in my head and do my best to make it come to life. that’s not to say I didn’t use any references while coding; I am pretty much always referencing W3Schools and other resources for help. I also used a css grid generator to help me out with the positioning of the main elements on my page. it’s not very complex of a code at all, either — feel free to right click and show page source to see how I did things (you should do that anytime you come across a site you like to study the code!). the bulk of my code is absolute positioning all the little .pngs around my page 😂

I love your page! Any tip for navigating making your own neocities website as a total beginner to code? I’m hopelessly lost. P.S. Interesting that you like Ethiopian food, are you Habesha or simply a fan of the cuisine? I’m the former, but personally not the latter :-/

hi, thank you so much! I am not Habesha, I just love the cuisine! I am actually mixed Parsi & Ashkenazi Jewish :)
as for coding tips, I am probably not the best person to ask because my knowledge has been a very piecemeal, learn-as-I-go journey from a young age. I basically learned everything I know from google + trial-and-error :P
